VirtuOz Announces Availability of Version 4.8 with More Flexible Virtual Agents

Leader in Enterprise Virtual Solutions Introduces New Capabilities That Increase the Capabilities of Virtual Agents

San Francisco, CA – August 31, 2009

VirtuOz, the leading provider of virtual support and sales agent solutions, today announced the general availability of VirtuOz 4.8 with new functionality that increases the capabilities and flexibility of its intelligent virtual agents. With this release, VirtuOz virtual agents will be able to perform actions on behalf of users, even after they have completed an interactive dialog with them. In addition, enhancements have been made to how customers integrate and publish information into the VirtuOz Virtual Agent Solution. This significantly increases the speed at which administrators can add information to the VirtuOz system, and thus provide value to their website users, and makes it easier to keep up with rapidly changing customer needs.

The main features of VirtuOz 4.8 include:

  • Virtual Agent Finalization: After completing a dialog with a user, a virtual agent can continue to operate on behalf of them for a set period of time in order to execute autonomous tasks, such as sending a follow-up email or extracting or passing information to other systems. This enables business functions to be completed without the need for the user to continue to be interacting with the virtual agent.

  • VirtuOz Content Exchange Interface (CXI): The VirtuOz CXI is a component of the virtual agent solution that enables customers to easily exchange information between enterprise systems, such as content management systems, and the VirtuOz solution. The VirtuOz Content Exchange Interface has been designed so that companies can extract information with a one-way or two-way process, and to more easily migrate information from other virtual agent systems, such as the Microsoft ASA solution.

  • Enhanced Content Authoring: With release 4.8, VirtuOz is providing more flexibility in how content is edited and published into the virtual agent solution. With enhanced content authoring, information that determines how VirtuOz virtual agents function can be managed outside of VirtuOz in other applications – in this way agents’ answers can be easily exported for sharing and review by customers.
